The goal of The Purple Hat project is to highlight the love of all people and families as well as drive support for local progressive-minded businesses and organizations – thus, providing a bridge to broaden minds open hearts and stimulate the local economy.
What is the Purple Hat Project?
In 2011 a bill passed through the Indiana House of Representatives banning gay marriage and gay adoption. In response, and article was written in the Indiana Business Journal asking, “What’s next, are we going to make all the gays wear purple hats so we can easily identify them on the streets?”. Click Here to view the Article. Our goal with the purple hat project is to show there are many people out there who do not support discrimination in any form, and it is not just gay people who should be wearing a purple hat – its anyone that has a family, business, or civic duty for the betterment of all society.
